Appearance: Allen wouldn't stand out much with his average height and weight if it weren't for his pure white hair, an oddity for someone his age yet every bit natural. He can be a bit self-concsious about it and will sometimes attempt to cover it if whatever he's wearing has a hood.

There's an unusually shaped scar on the left side of his face, starting with an upside down star on his forehead and going down to his eye and cheek.

His wardrobe seems to consist entirely of black and white garments with the extremely rare red detail, going more for the classic and practical rather than fashionable. Due to the unusual black look of his left arm, Allen tends to wear mostly long-sleeved clothes and more often than not gloves as well.

Personality: The base of Allen's personality can be described through his modus vivendi: Keep walking. No matter what obstacles lay ahead, he'll keep going with his never ending positivity, not even considering stepping back. He has a bit of a savior complex going on, always putting others before himself when they need help. Not only for those close to him, but also for strangers he'll do anything to the point of risking his own life and attempting the impossible.

By putting himself at the end of the line, Allen tends to ignore his own problems and keep them inside rather than troubling others with them, but this never stops him from offering the world a smile and sharing his hope.

There's a darker side to his personality that surfaces whenever gambling is involved. Whenever he's playing a game of chance or wits he'll do whatever it takes and cheat his way into winning.

Abilities: With his cursed left eye Allen has the ability to see the trapped souls in Akuma, allowing him to distinguish them even if they're wearing human skins. This eye has evolved to the point of allowing him to pinpoint the location of Akuma within a large range.

His left arm is composed of Innocence- a parasitic type which, as the name states, forms part of his body. It has gone through many changes until it reached its current final state of "Crowned Clown". When activated a white cowl that appears to have a mind of its own drapes on Allen along with his left arm growing a set of sharp claws. In this state there are several abilities that Allen can use:

· Cross Grave, an attack as well as a defense that can easily destroy Akuma.
· Clown Belt which, using the cowl, can also form a defense in the shape of a protective web or shoot out as a ribbon to restrain and retrieve.
· Crown Edge is a projectile type attack, shooting out the crown-shaped rings that appear on his left hand during this state.
· Edge End which is basically the use of the claws on his left hand.
· By raising his synchronization level even further, Allen's left arm can be detached and transform into the Sword of Exorcism.

History

False memories: Though he was born in Terra Allen spent most of his childhood living in the Abyss. His birth parents abandoned him for reasons he can't remember, but a kind man called Mana picked him off the streets and raised him as his own child. With Mana being a street performer, they wandered Terra and the Abyss putting on shows. They slept where they could and didn't always get a decent meal, but the time spent alongside Mana were the happiest years of Allen's life.

This happy time came to an abrupt end the day of Mana's death. The details of what happened aren't clear in Allen's memories, but he remembers wandering mindlessly on his own, ending up lost in the Abyss. Next thing he knew he had ended up in Sancta Maria Orphanage. There he spent the next couple of years of his life, mastering the art of cheating and gambling, fighting over food with the other kids, and paying off the debts of Cross Marian.

By the time he reached sixteen years of age, Allen decided it was time to get out and try making a life for himself back in Terra. With money earned from a particularly good night of poker, he moved into a little apartment in Terra and got himself a honest job at the Café. Of course, whenever the Café's wages don't cut it to pay rent, there's always the option of going back and doing some gambling.

Canon: Allen was born to an unknown couple and subsequently abandoned because of his unusual left arm. He was adopted by a man named Mana Walker and raised by him until he died when Allen was twelve. Allen revived Mana as an akuma - that is, a living soul powering a mechanical shell created by a mysterious man called the Millennium Earl - and was subsequently cursed by him. Allen's left arm changes its shape to a large, silver claw, revealing itself as Innocence, the only substance that can kill akuma. Against his will, he destroys akuma Mana, the shock of this turning his hair from a light brown to pure white. Left alone, he was taken in by a man named Cross Marian who is a general for the Black Order and ~~completely abused~~ trained to be an Exorcist - a person who defeats akuma using Innocence. At the age of fifteen, Cross sends him out along with his communication Golem, Timcampy, to find the Black Order and become a full-fledged Exorcist.

Together with fellow Exorcists Lenalee, Bookman, Rabi and Krory, he set off in the mission to find General Cross; a long search that would eventually lead them all the way to Japan, a place infested with Akuma where they would meet the Earl in person and get sucked into his old Ark, a trap meant to end with their lives as it would crumble away into nothingness while they tried to reach the exit within a time limit.

When it all seemed lost and their chances null Cross appeared and told Allen he could control the Ark. By playing a piano he stopped the destruction and even restored the rest of the Ark.

Luckily, the Earl's plans failed and were turned against, robbing him of his Akuma factory. While the Ark was linked to the Black Order's HQ a swarm of Akuma attacked, sending the whole place into panic. During this disastrous attack one of the Akuma managed to evolve up to the previously unseen Level 4. It took all they had and teamwork between Allen and Lenalee to finally destroy it.

Life went back to being somewhat normal at HQ after that with everyone still recovering from their injuries, but with many questions going unanswered and the Earl's display of power a new era is about to begin.
